Star Trek 3 could film next year under director JJ Abrams.

Quinto has revealed that Abrams may return for the third film on top of
his commitment to Star Wars Episode 7, reports BuzzHub.
"Star Trek 3 should be filming, I suppose, next year," said Quinto at the 2013 Galway Film Fleadh.
"It's going to be made a lot quicker than the last one. That's the plan, although nothing is confirmed yet."
Quinto also mentioned the possibility of Abrams's return for the Star Trek Into Darkness follow-up.
When asked if he wanted to appear in Star Wars Episode 7, Quinto said that he did not. He did not offer an explanation.
The actor returned to the role of Spock in Star Trek Into Darkness earlier in the year.
Star Wars creator George Lucas recently admitted that his franchise "stood on the shoulders" of Star Trek. (kapanlagi.com)
